It was introduced in 1971/72 as a replacement for the ailing Personal and Professional models

with the exception of the repeat intensity as Roland ‘improved’ them by removing self-oscillation of the 201 and 301 - this machine now self-oscillates beautifully

In great working order after a full service from James Walker at Synth Repair Services. Condition is very good overall. Some areas of the finish have been touched up after chips oxidation (mainly the top panel above the keys) and there is a repair to one of the wooden ends see the detailed photos below. A good example of this uncommon instrument. Sounds superb.
