Late Byzantine Bronze Reliquary Cross c.14th Century Bee 000 bombs awaited their disposalAn Incredible Late Byzantine Bronze Reliquary Cross, c. 14th Century. This Is An Extremely Large Example. Made In The Form Of A Hinged Box With A Relief Depiction Of Christ Crucified, With A Saint At Each Arm Of The Cross. These Boxes Were Used As A Container To House Religious Relics, Such As A Splinter Of The True Cross Sold To Naive Pilgrims Visiting The Holy Lands. Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound. Measures 12cm
