Painter's Servant is probably best-known for its role in Legacy, where it is one of two cards at the heart of one of the format's oldest and most prolific combo decks
While it had a massive peak at $12, the card has since come down to a price point somewhere between $7 and $8
It sells faster than other similarly expensive cards on the Reserved List because its splashy effect bridges the gap between high-power casual Commander players and cEDH players
Again, it's another nice blend of flavor and function, really driving home how well this Commander deck was designed
Removal is necessary against the deck, but the deck generates enough free card advantage that removal spells are ultimately a losing proposition, which means your opponent cant really afford to play enough removal, and because the way you pressure your opponent with your creatures generally doesnt require overextending in any real way, its hard for them to catch up with sweepers
