The way challenging works is a ready (untapped) character exerts and chooses an opposing exerted character to challenge, and then both cards compare their strength (attack) and willpower (defense) values to each other (meaning the attacker automatically gets hit back by the defender)

Non-Foil cards have a glossy front finish instead of matt in the original Magic The Gathering cards, with the cards back remaining the same

There are 12 characters from Gargoyles , as well as quite a few from The Black Cauldron franchise
