Manaia Pounamu Sculpture - Mike Matchitt Peter Mitchell using authentic pounamu (New ZealandMatau Manaia are contemporary forms that personify Tangaroa, the guardian over all living creatures in ng puna wai (water sources). This piece was carved and polished with a satin finish and measures 18 x 7. 5 cm. It sits on a native timber and brass base and features a beautiful pua shell inlaid eyes. This piece was hand carved by Mike Matchitt.
